Abstract

This study aims to adapt Collective Teacher Efficacy Scale developed by Tschannen-Moran and Barr (2004) to Turkish language. The sample of the study consisted of 439 teachers. In order to examine the construct validity of the scale, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were performed. Within the scope of reliability analyses were used Cronbach's Alpha coefficients of internal consistency, test-retest correlation coefficients were calculated. As a result of EFA and CFA, it was observed that this scale is compatible with the original form and items on the scale are under two distinct factors. The internal consistency coefficients vary between .85 and .88 while the test-retest reliability coefficients range from .78 to .88. Within the frame of adaptation study was obtained evidence to indicate that Turkish version of Collective Teacher Efficacy Scale is a valid and reliable instrument in measuring the levels of collective teacher efficacy.
