DIDACTIC STUDY OF POPULAR NOVELS AS TEACHING MATERIALS FOR LITERATURE LEARNING

Abstract

Life problems that plague young people today such as behavioral deviations, bullying, drugs, murder, brawls that lead to death are urgent problems and are the center of attention. Addressing this problem needs to be realized through students' interest and motivation as fans of literary works, one of which is increasing interest in reading novels. Novels as literary works are conditioned by life values. The description of the characters in a novel sticks and becomes a role model for the readers. Popular novels are novels that are in great demand by many people. Based on the attractiveness of popular novels, researchers study popular novels based on didactic studies as teaching materials in literature learning. There are seven popular novels studied including the novel Negeri 5 Menara by Ahmad Fuadi, the novel Rain by Tere Liye, the novel Dikta and Hukum, the novel Conspiracy of the Universe by Fiersa Besari, the novel entitled Little Letters to God by Agnes Davonar, the novel Khan Full of Love by Niamaharani, and the novel Mariposa by Luluk HF. The aim of this study is to determine the knowledge and moral values ​​that can shape the character of readers through didactic studies, and to create teaching materials for literary learning based on didactic studies. The determined didactic study is based on the technique of revealing the content of the novel. The research method uses descriptive qualitative. Researchers read the novel then marked the content of the novel based on didactic parameters and analyzed it. The results of this research produced novel teaching materials based on didactic aspects in literature learning
