Abstract
Cooperative learning (CL) is a learner-centred pedagogical

Unlike competitiveorindividualistic models, CL emphasizes positive interdependence, accountability, and mutual support, thereby fosteringbothacademic achievement and socio-emotional growth. Thispapersynthesizes empirical research and meta-analyses toexaminethecognitive, social, and affective benefits of CL indiverseeducational contexts. Findings indicate that CL significantlyenhances critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solvingabilities while promoting empathy, interpersonal relationships, andinclusive classroom environments. Evidence also suggeststhatcooperative tasks improve student motivation, engagement, andreflective learning, preparing learners for the collaborativedemands of the 21st century. The analysis highlights not onlytheeffectiveness of CL in strengthening academic outcomesbut alsoits role in nurturing holistic development and critical citizenship. Byintegrating rigorous content learning with social-emotional
development, CL emerges as a transformative pedagogical
