The Influence Of Bureaucracy On Economic Development
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper examines the impact of bureaucracy on economic growth, with a focus on Jammu and Kashmir. Drawing on Weberian theory and international literature, it assesses how bureaucratic quality through things like efficiency, transparency, and corruption influence growth and investment. The study utilized quantitative data from 30 respondents through structured questionnaires and was able to determine a weak relationship between bureaucratic quality and investment, but a strong relationship between corruption and lack of economic attractiveness. Finally, a regression analysis confirmed that corruption is of utmost deterrent towards development, whereas transparency contains a more limited influence. The study's implications point toward addressing bureaucratic reforms as an effort to curtail bureaucratic ineffectiveness and improve the economic atmosphere for growth.
