Abstract

It is over the course of his creative work that R.K. Narayan, who is widely considered to be one of the most accomplished novelists in India, emerges as a narrator of everyday life. Using a literary style that is both subtle and attractive, the objective of this study is to analyze his depiction of common people and his abilities at capturing the spirit of the ordinary via his writing.
