The Application Of The Four Brahmavihāra Principles Of Moral Teaching Monks In Na Kaeo Subdistrict Schools, Phon Na Kaeo District, Sakon Nakhon Province

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) explore the application of the Four Brahmavihāra principles in moral teaching by monks in schools within the Na Kaeo subdistrict, Phon Na Kaeo District, Sakon Nakhon Province; 2) describe the moral teaching approaches of teachers in these schools; and 3) apply the Four Brahmavihāra principles in the moral education provided in these settings.

The research results were as follows:

The Four Brahmavihāra Principles in Moral Teaching: these principles foster self-sacrifice and cultivate virtues within students. They involve dedicating personal time to impart knowledge with a supportive and kind demeanor, fostering a beneficial environment for learning and moral development.

Moral Teaching Techniques: teachers use real-life events to make lessons relatable, engaging students with current events and personal experiences. They employ a combination of good and bad examples, followed by detailed explanations of the underlying moral principles.

 Application of the Four Brahmavihāra principles in the moral education provided in these settings: monks integrate these principles into their teaching, creating a blended educational approach that is both theoretical and practical. This method helps students develop forgiveness and attention to moral actions more quickly than usual, emphasizing the importance of ethical behavior in both academic and social contexts.
