This paper reviews AI techniques in education based on the methods adopted currently to determine how learners’ experiences can be improved as it takes into account challenges like infringement on learners’ privacy, skewed results based on an algorithm, and displacement of human skills by machines. Consequently, relying on ethical, educational, and technological stances, this scholarly endeavor provides a conceptual map to understand the ethical dilemma that is invariably embedded in AI in the learning process. It underlines relevance of building procedural transparency, independent accountability, as well as equality to ensure that AI is a enabler of education’s aims to contribute to a student’s success as well as the general wellbeing of a society. In an effort to evaluate qualitatively the complexity of the problem, design an ethical framework, and implement appropriate best practices for pedagogical use of AI-based technologies in education, this paper seeks to provide policy-makers, educators, and technology developers with guidelines that will foster an ethically cautious future use of AI in educational spaces.
