Abstract

Organic farming has emerged as a vital agricultural practice globally, focusing on sustainability, environmental conservation, and health benefits. In India, where agriculture is a cornerstone of the economy, organic farming is gaining momentum as a sustainable alternative to conventional farming. North East India, with its distinctive geographical and cultural landscape, offers significant potential for organic farming to drive entrepreneurship and economic development. This literature review examines the impact of organic farming on entrepreneurship development in North East India, outlining the region's challenges and opportunities. The review synthesizes current research, identifying key themes, gaps, and future research directions. Recent studies from the broader Indian context provide additional insights into the evolving landscape of organic farming and its implications for entrepreneurship, highlighting successes and challenges from other regions that can inform practices in North East India.
