Abstract

This research paper delves into a comprehensive examination of the intricate dynamics surrounding urban development within the esteemed heritage zone of Lutyens' Delhi, particularly emphasizing its alignment with the Master Plan of Delhi (MPD-2041). The primary objective is to meticulously scrutinize the mechanisms and implementation strategies delineated in MPD-2041 and their impact on urban development within Lutyens' Delhi. A critical evaluation is conducted to assess these strategies' efficacy, highlighting their strengths and challenges and the monitoring mechanisms in place. Additionally, the paper explores the adaptability of these strategies in effectively preserving the inherent heritage character of Lutyens' Delhi while simultaneously catering to the contemporary demands of modernization. Through an exhaustive analysis, the study provides valuable insights into the strategies outlined in MPD-2041, elucidating their role in striking a delicate balance between the imperative preservation of Lutyens' Delhi's heritage essence and the imperative for modernization.
