Abstract

Women's safety in the built environment is a critical concern, particularly in densely populated urban areas like the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. This literature review paper aims to examine the factors influencing women's safety in the built environment of Delhi and explore the existing research and initiatives addressing this issue. By analysing relevant literature, studies, and reports, this paper identifies key factors affecting women's safety in Delhi, including physical design and urban planning, social and cultural factors, transportation and mobility, and policy and governance. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by women in Delhi and provide insights for designing safer urban environments and implementing effective policies and interventions.
