The analysis of the results revealed that they are optimistic since there is a positive relationship between E.I. and social skills. Socioeconomic background was found to be a predictor of emotional intelligence. The results of the study stated that there is a positive impact of social competence on emotional intelligence. Slightly higher scores of positive affect and generalized credit belonging to different branches of self-efficacy were noted among students from higher socioeconomic status (SES) as compared to those belonging to the lower SES. It is therefore the need to cultivate emotional intelligence and social competence among the students in the secondary school for them to excel in their academic work as well as grow properly.
