Investigating the Level of Benefit Primary School Teachers Get from the Guidance of Educational Supervisors and Principals

Abstract
Guidance to primary school teachers plays a big role in increasing their success. Guidance to primary school teachers is generally undertaken by educational supervısors and principals. This study aims at determining the rate of benefit public primary school teachers’ get from the guidance of educational supervısors and principals. Data from face to face interviews have been investigated using qualitative research methods and evaluated by content analysis. Most of the teachers participating in the study think that principals and educational supervısors are not able to give effective guidance and they cannot benefit from the guidance sufficiently, guidance studies are not of help to solve the problems they encountered. Teachers participating in the study think that guidance activities will be more useful if they are undertaken by principals who are trained in this area.
