Abstract

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 represents a paradigmatic shift in India's educational framework, emphasizing the integration of indigenous knowledge systems with contemporary pedagogical approaches. This paper examines the alignment between the Bharatiya knowledge tradition and NEP 2020's objectives, analyzing how ancient Indian educational philosophies can be harmoniously integrated into modern curricula. Through systematic analysis of policy documents, historical texts, and contemporary research, this study identifies key convergence points and implementation challenges. The findings reveal that NEP 2020 provides substantial opportunities for revitalizing traditional knowledge systems while maintaining global competitiveness. The paper concludes with recommendations for effective implementation strategies that honor both traditional wisdom and modern educational requirements.
